Mt Ruapehu is the largest ski area in North Island New Zealand. Offering 2 ski areas: Whakapapa and Tūroa, Mt Ruapehu is New Zealand’s best kept secret. We have group accommodation in 3 local townships around the base of Mt Ruapehu that offer easy access to the slopes. Not only does Mt Ruapehu have the highest chairlift and longest vertical in New Zealand but is also perfect for beginner skiers and snowboarders, with a dedicated exclusive teaching area separate from the public making it the perfect option for schools and groups. Mt Ruapehu is a great foundation for an extended cultural and ski trip, where you can stop in Auckland and Rotorua to visit hot springs, mud pools, panoramic views, and jet boating along Huka Falls. The world’s longest zorbing track is unmissable, and for a truly immersive insight into New Zealand’s culture, visit glow worm caves, learn about Maori traditions, and meet New Zealand’s native bird, the Kiwi. Sno’n’Ski Group Holidays can customise a split stay so you can see more of the North Island.
